(Rochester, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton men's ice hockey team couldn't recover from a four-goal first period from Monroe Community College as they fell to the Tribunes 5-0 Friday night in Rochester.

The Roos fell to 0-1 in Region III and 0-2 overall while the Tribunes improved to 1-0 in the region and 1-0-1 overall.

Tom Pappa, Andrew Hartman, Matt McNeil and Alan Campisi each scored in the first period for Monroe and then McNeil scored again at the 11:10 mark of the second period.

Brandon Mahler (Malone, N.Y.) stopped 19 shots in goal for SUNY Canton and Danny Kuntz had 21 saves for the Tribunes.
