Head Coach Joe Carbone
(Canton, N.Y.)- SUNY Canton is pleased to announce the hiring of Joe Carbone as head baseball coach.
"We are very pleased to have Joe join our staff," said athletic director Diane Para. "Joe has numerous contacts, not only in the North Country but throughout New York, and that will help tremendously in building the program. Joe brings a lot of energy and knowledge of the game and we are confident he will lead the baseball program in the right direction."
Joe has served as president of the Knapps Station Baseball Program in Norfolk for the past 12 years. In that capacity he has recruited, trained, and coached youth teams, coordinated fundraising efforts and scheduling, and conducted numerous clinics throughout the area.
Joe has also been the assistant coach with the Norwood-Norfolk Central School varsity baseball team for two years and has worked at the Youth Summer Baseball Camp at Clarkson University for nine years.
Joe earned an associate’s degree in criminal justice from SUNY Canton and a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and sociology from Plattsburgh State University and is a corrections officer in Gouverneur.
