Matt Metcalf
Assistant Athletic Director / Sports Information
Matt is in his ninth year as Sports Information Director at SUNY Canton and fourth as assistant athletic director.
Matt is the primary media contact for the athletic department and is responsible for the publicity of the college’s nine intercollegiate athletic programs. He oversees the maintenance of the athletic department website and athletic publications.
In his role as assistant athletic director, Matt assists with administrative affairs within the athletic department. This includes overseeing eligibility for the men's ice hockey team, assisting the athletic director in Sunrise Conference matters, being a liaison with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and working with the athletic director and senior staff on strategic planning.
Matt also serves as the Sports Information Director for the Sunrise Conference and has held the same title with Northeast Football Conference.
The Canton, N.Y. native graduated from St. Bonaventure University in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications. He earned a master’s degree in sports management from the United States Sports Academy in Alabama in 2008.
Matt lives in Canton with his wife Meg and daughters Abby, 5, and Katie, 2.
