Teresa Minckler
Assistant Athletic Director / Fitness Center Director
Teresa is in fourth year as the director of the SUNY Canton Fitness Center and first as assistant athletic director.
Teresa is in charge of all business-related matters for the athletic department. She is responsible for the athletic department budget and all the ordering and purchasing for all nine intercollegiate programs and staff.
Teresa oversees the SUNY Canton fitness center and is in charge of equipment maintenance, staffing, and the sale of memberships.
Teresa has also been the head women’s soccer coach at SUNY Canton. In the Roos first season as a four-year program in 2007, Teresa guided the team to the Sunrise Conference championship and a berth in the NAIA national tournament after finishing with a perfect 12-0 conference record. During her tenure Teresa was also named the Mid-State Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2006 and guided SUNY Canton into the quarterfinals of the Region 3 tournament.
Teresa was a standout soccer and basketball player at the former Mater Dei College in Ogdensburg and basketball at UNC-Pembroke in North Carolina.
At Mater Dei she received her associate's degree in ophthalmic dispensing and she was an Honorable Mention All-American and Most Valuable Player in Region 3 in basketball and was the school's Most Valuable Player in soccer.
At UNC-Pembroke she was a team captain her senior year and received her bachelor's degree in athletic training.
Teresa currently lives in Gouverneur with her husband Jim and son JD and is expecting her second child in the summer of 2009.
