Storytelling in Marketing Minor

Storytelling is an essential tool for conveying effective messages and compelling stories in digital communications including advertising, social media posts, marketing, v/blogging, journalism, and promotional writing.  By blending the practical aspects of business and marketing with the creative and analytical elements of storytelling, this minor will prepare students for a variety of careers in marketing, communications, digital media, digital design, and content creation. This interdisciplinary approach allows for a comprehensive understanding of how media, identity, and marketing intersect in the digital age. In this minor students will gain proficiency in visual rhetoric, digital storytelling techniques, AI ethics, and social media issues. This minor will equip students with the skills needed to navigate the rapidly changing digital marketing landscape, focusing on creativity, communication, and ethical considerations.

* 9 credits of minor coursework must be at the upper-division level
