Filing a Complaint
SUNY Canton is committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment. Everyone is welcome here. Incidents of bias, discrimination, and racism can be reported at any time. These reports will be reviewed immediately and taken seriously.
There are various ways individuals can file a complaint of discrimination, report incidences of bias, or seek help dealing with these issues. Anyone can use these processes:
- Discrimination Complaint Procedure (including Title IX) is a complaint procedure for the prompt and equitable investigation and resolution of allegations of unlawful discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, religion, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, familial status, pregnancy, predisposing genetic characteristics, military status, domestic violence victim status, and criminal conviction.
This procedure includes the Title IX Grievance Policy. Individuals may also report sexual discrimination complaints (including sexual violence, sexual harassment) by:- Using the online Sexual/Interpersonal Violence/Harassment Form (Title IX)
- Contacting the Title IX Coordinator at title9@canton.edu or (315) 386-7050
- Reporting to University Police at Dana Hall or (315) 386-7777
- Bias Reporting Form: A form that allows individuals to report an experience or incident that may be rooted in bias.
