CDL Commercial Truck Driver Training
The Center for Workforce, Community & Industry Partnerships offers Class A and Class B Tractor Trailer trainings. Start a career in this lucrative industry. This is a great local opportunity to learn the skills needed to pass the NYS Class A and B driving exam.
CDL Class A is an 8-10 week training program. It consists of 10 hours of classroom instruction on Thursday evenings from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM and 40 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training, scheduled by the student and instructor.
CDL Class B is an 8 week training program. It consists of 10 hours of classroom instruction on Thursday evenings from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM and 30 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training, scheduled by the student and instructor.
CDL Class B Upgrade to a Class A is a 4-5 week training program. It consists of 10 hours of classroom instruction on Thursday evenings from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM and 20 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training, scheduled by the student and instructor.

- $40 DMV road test fee is included in tuition. If the road test is not passed on the first attempt, an additional $40 fee will be charged to the student for each future attempt.
- Additional driving hours one-on-one with the trainer can be purchased for $140/hour

Application and Required Documentation
After your application and required documentation is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email with a tentative class start date and instructions on securing funding. The CDL program costs $7000 and this cost can be covered by out-of-pocket payment, employer reimbursement, NYS part-time tuition assistance (TAP) for non-degree students, or other local funding sources.

Class Start Date
Once funding is secured, your class start date will be confirmed. Prior to the class start date (no more than 60 days prior), you will need to secure a drug test and submit the results. Once the negative drug test is received, this will finalize your application and the class dates, campus parking pass, and course instructions will be sent.

Contact 866-647-3463 x 4 (drug testing) and an associate at Management Information Services will find the closest collection site and set up an order. You will need the DOT emulator UA test (65105N) for $65.00. Once you call Management Information Services, they will enter your request, process payment, and email a barcode that you will take to the collection site.

The following exams are required by the DMV and are to be paid by the applicant.
- Core Exam = $10
- Air Brake Test = $5
- Combination Vehicle = $5
- Permit fee at DMV = $10
