Description of Duties
The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Canton invites qualified applicants for a full-time, Lecturer position in the Applied Psychology Department beginning September 1, 2025.
Responsibilities
- A 4/4 teaching load, which will include face-to-face courses, plus the use of online, hybrid, and converged modalities.
- Teaching assignments may include courses in Introductory Psychology, Personality, Human Development, Professional Ethics, and additional courses related to introducing students to the delivery of social/human services.
- Advising and mentoring students.
- Collaborative participation in course, curriculum, program development, and assessment.
- Participation in campus, university, and community service activities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related with five years of prior experience in field (e.g., teaching, counseling, or human services)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous college teaching experience.
- Licensure as appropriate.
Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, and criminal background check.
