Early Childhood - Lecturer

SALARY RANGE:

$50,000-$65,000

Description of Duties

The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Canton invites qualified applicants for a full-time, Lecturer – Early Childhood position in the Social Sciences Department beginning September 1, 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Instruction of undergraduate courses offered in the A.S. and B.B.A. Early Childhood degree programs.
  • 4/4 course load, including on campus and online teaching.
  • Academic student advisement and mentorship.
  • Program and curriculum development, review, and revision.
  • Development and assessment of course student learning outcomes.
  • Collaborative participation in university service, College, and Department activities.
  • Community and campus engagement.
  • Participation in program marketing and student recruitment initiatives.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Master’s degree in early childhood, child development, or related field with emphasis on children from infancy to age 5.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the field of early care and education working with children from birth to age 5 years.
  • Knowledge of Child Care Regulations and Licensing.
  • College teaching at the undergraduate level in both online and in person settings.
  • Experience designing and developing undergraduate courses relevant to the early childhood discipline.
  • Knowledge of Online Learning Management Systems.

PREFERRED:

  • Administrative experience in licensed Child Care settings at the Assistant Director or Director level.
