Description of Duties
The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Canton invites qualified applicants for a full-time, ten-month, instructional support associate in the Nursing Department, to begin January 1, 2025. The ideal candidate will possess good communication and organizational skills and function well as a member of a team.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include supporting daily operations of the Nursing Clinical Skills Labs and Simulation Lab, such as preparing labs for PN and RN programs, providing technical support to students and faculty during lab time, and assisting faculty with set up of open lab to ensure a safe and clean laboratory environment; ordering and managing supply inventory, maintaining patient simulators and a variety of lab equipment including hardware and software installation, upgrades, operational checks, troubleshooting, repair and arranges for repair/replacement of broken equipment. Continuing education in areas that meet the needs of the department (e.g. simulation) is required. The ISA serves as a resource person for faculty and students in matters relating to the nursing labs.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Hold licensure as a Practical Nurse of Registered Nurse in New York State. Minimum of one year of clinical experience working as a LPN or RN.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field and clinical experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, computer literacy, experience with Excel spreadsheets or equivalent.
Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, and criminal background check.
