Description of Duties
The State University of New York (SUNY) college at Canton invites qualified applicants for Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the Student Health Center. This is an 11-month position.
Responsibilities
The role is responsible for providing assessment, diagnosis, appropriate medical management, and patient education for acute episodic illnesses, injuries, and stable chronic diseases in a college health center.
The PA/NP will engage in timely and appropriate consultation with the supervising physician and actively participate in health education and community outreach activities of the department as needed. Eleven-month permanent position available immediately with NYS benefit package.
Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.
Qualifications
Required:
- Candidates must be graduates of an accredited educational program for physician assistant/nurse practitioner.
- Licensed to practice as a physician assistant/nurse practitioner in New York State.
- At least one year of clinical experience as a physician assistant/nurse practitioner in a medical outpatient setting with some experience in women’s health care and have demonstrated experience working with culturally diverse groups of people.
Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, and criminal background check.
