» Dependent Care Advantage Account
All employees are eligible to participate in the dependent care advantage account. Under this plan participating employees contribute a portion of their salary on a pre-tax basis (maximum of $5,000) to a flexible spending account to pay for expenses incurred for dependent care. Some bargaining units contribute additional funds to individual accounts. Generally a qualifying dependent is a person who:
- qualifies as a dependent on your federal tax return, and
- in the case of a family member, is a child under the age of 13, or an individual physically or mentally incapable of self-care.
» Health Care Spending Account
All employees who are eligible for health insurance are eligible to participate in the health care spending account. Under this plan participating employees contribute a portion of their salary on a pre-tax basis (maximum of $3,050) to a flexible spending account to pay for health care expenses not reimbursed by health insurance.
