Presidential Internship Program

The Summer 2024 and Fall 2024 Presidential Internship request form is now open to campus departments/supervisors. Please submit requests for interns here.

  • Interns should work no more than 100 hours per semester. Supervisors are responsible for scheduling student work hours accordingly. On average, interns may work 10 hours per week over a 10-week period or 8 hours per week over a 12-week period. To align with NYS minimum wage standards ($15.00/hour), interns will receive a $1,500.00 stipend. Stipends are paid in two installments pending supervisor approval.

Removing Barriers to Internship Completion: Transportation and Childcare Assistance Stipends

Funds are limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

Students may request up to $1,000 for transportation (i.e. gas mileage, public transportation) and childcare assistance (childcare center or in-home costs) during an off-campus internship experience.

**Transportation and child care assistance requests for credit-bearing internships, clinical, or preceptorship experiences will be reviewed by Financial Aid before they can be approved.

Living Stipends for Unpaid Public Service and Non-Profit Internships

Funds are limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

Students who secure unpaid internships with off-campus non-profit or public service organizations may request up to $1,000 to supplement their living expenses during an internship experience. Examples include law enforcement and human services agencies, museums, public charities, public radio, and public school districts. Students can request funds for internships that are credit-bearing or non-credit.
