SUNY Canton Sports Management major Carter Pooler of Adams Center said he chose SUNY Canton so he could earn a degree while playing lacrosse for the Roos.
“My favorite staff member is Coach Harrington because he has given me the opportunity to play the sport that I love and has helped me through many obstacles that have come my way,” he said. “When I hurt my left shoulder playing lacrosse, my professors and the student accessibility services office supported me while I struggled to complete my homework. It made me feel like I chose the best school because they worked with me to ensure I could succeed academically.”
One of Carter's favorite memories at SUNY Canton was volunteering for the Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University games. He had the opportunity to learn about the planning and setup processes for the international event which offered competition spanning the entire region.
Carter is set to graduate in the spring of 2024 and is eyeing career prospects with the Premier Lacrosse League. He said he is interested in either coaching or a media operations position.
