T Dixon-Clark

T Dixon-Clark of Bay Shore is studying toward a career she previously thought was an unachievable childhood dream. At the end of the semester, she will be joining her husband, the Reverend Dr. Daris Dixon-Clark, as a funeral director and graduate of SUNY Canton.
“SUNY Canton offers the Funeral Services Administration program in such a way that it is accessible to people who already have careers,” T said. “It is now part of my dream-come-true story.”
Both T and her husband studied online. She will be graduating in May 2025 and her husband graduated last year.
When asked about the most significant things she’s learned since coming to SUNY Canton, she said, “I learned what support looks like. It was all around me from the start of my SUNY Canton academic career until the end of it.”
She said her family plans include working together for the rest of their days as funeral directors. “We plan to create opportunities for others where we were met with roadblocks,” T said.
Before working side-by-side with her husband, she first plans to pass the national board examinations on her first try.
