Nevaeh Seabron of Beekmantown came to SUNY Canton with the goal of becoming a forensic technician.
“When I was in high school, I was in the New Visions Medical program,” Navaeh said. “During my time shadowing in the ER, I saw the law enforcement officer's roles. From there, I did some research and found that the best route for me involved law and science.”
Nevaeh is currently an online-only student who previously took classes on campus. She was a Resident Assistant in Rushton Residence Hall and a Student Assistant at the Southworth Library Learning Commons. Now, she works at the Information Services Help Desk.
“When I first got to Canton, the amazing landscape caught my attention,” she said. “Once I saw the criminal justice department, I decided it was perfect for me.”
She has joined the National Society for Leadership and Success and the criminal justice honor society Alpha Phi Sigma. “A significant portion of my time at SUNY Canton was spent meeting and getting to know my now Fiancé, Xavier Collins,” she said.
Nevaeh is set to graduate in fall 2025. “After graduation, I plan on staying around here for a little while as I have an opportunity with a private investigation company,” she said.
