Learning Commons Student Advisory Committee

Purpose: A student-centered group organized for the purpose of reviewing student feedback on the services, access, and programming available in the Learning Commons.

This group meets virtually on Teams 1-2 times per semester. Students are provided with opportunities to offer insights and feedback about their experiences with our spaces and services (either virtually or on campus).

The Learning Commons Student Advisory Committee has provided vital feedback throughout the years, often resulting in changes being implemented to better serve our students.

• Late-Night Tutoring hours
• Coordinated Learning Commons communication through Brightspace
• Expansion of communication platforms
• Purchase of Kahoot! software
• Increased loan period for e-books
• Microwave in the Cyber Café
• Adjusted Cyber Café menu (ongoing)
• Customer Loyalty Card for the Cyber Café
• Student input on the types of events offered by the Learning Commons (ongoing)
• Development of virtual engagement resources
• Tutorials about Brightspace
• Student input on website accessibility and ease of navigation (ongoing)
• Coordinated efforts to provide virtual tutors with course materials provided by instructors to Tutoring Services
• Purchase of veterinary technology resources for the STEM Lab (ongoing)
