American Association of University Women (AAUW) at SUNY Canton
AAUW is a national organization promoting equity for women-identifying individuals and students, with a focus on supporting fair pay and economic opportunities. AAUW supports all women regardless of class, ethnicity, race, religion, nationality, or background. AAUW works to enable women’s success and reduce the bias, barriers, and discrimination women encounter in both education and the workforce. This includes causes such as income comparisons which demonstrate the persistence of pay inequity with women earning 83 cents for every dollar a man earns. While women are more than 60% of college graduates, they remain underrepresented in all levels of leadership positions.
The AAUW Chapter at SUNY Canton seeks to empower women in their current and future endeavors through strengthening networks and providing opportunities to increase professional talent and qualifications.
