SUNY Canton Hosts Broker and Owner of Blue Heron Realty for Leadership Lecture Series Event

SUNY Canton has announced the first guest for the fall semester’s Excellence in Leadership Lecture Series.

Jennifer Stevenson, the broker/owner of Blue Heron Realty in Ogdensburg, will speak at noon, Tuesday Oct. 16, in Cook Hall, Room 201. The event is free and open to the public.

A member of the SUNY Canton class of 1988, Stevenson’s interest in real estate began while earning her associate degree in Accounting. Shortly after graduation, she obtained her real estate broker’s license and began working for a national agency.

In 1999, Stevenson opened Blue Heron. In addition to being a successful small business owner, she generously donates her time and talent to a wide range of community organizations. She is a member of the National Association of Realtors Housing Opportunity Committee, which aims to improve rental and home ownership options for low-income individuals and families. She is also the secretary-treasurer for the New York State Association of Realtors and serves on the State and Local Issues Policy committee for the National Association of Realtors.

The Excellence in Leadership Lecture Series connects working professionals who are experts in their fields with current SUNY Canton students. The events are are funded by Corning Incorporated Foundation and presented by the Canton College Foundation and the SUNY Canton President’s Office.
