SUNY Canton Schedules Oct. 1 ASAP|ACE Student Networking Event

Published:

SUNY Canton will hold a unique networking event for students enrolled in its highly successful Advancing Success in Associate Pathways (ASAP) and Advancing Completion through Engagement (ACE) programs at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1 at the Roos House Convocation, Athletic and Recreation Center’s mezzanine area.

The college has invited area elected officials, members of the press, and college officials to meet with the students.

ASAP and ACE students sit at a table outside Dana Hall.

“Networking offers our students the ability to meet mentors, industry contacts and area leaders,” said Kelsey Guerard, ASAP|ACE director. ““Each of our students can benefit from this experience to help prepare them with both their education goals and to prepare for their future careers, which aligns perfectly with our program goals.”

In turn, ASAP|ACE students can share their stories of how the programs have helped them be successful in their degree pursuits. The program includes financial assistance, personalized academic advising, career development, and community-building activities to help Pell-eligible students overcome obstacles and obtain their goals.

ASAP, ACE, SUNY Canton

ASAP is designed to assist two-year students and ACE assists the college’s four-year students. The college offers bachelor’s and associate degree programs and offers both assistance options. At SUNY Canton, the programs are at capacity, with approximately 185 students enrolled during the fall 2024 semester.

The programs expanded to the SUNY system in Spring 2024 through state-level support championed by Gov. Kathy Hochul in the $75 million SUNY Transformation Fund and supplemented by private grants. In Fall 2024, SUNY ASAP|ACE expects to enroll 4,200 students system-wide.
