Give Blood at SUNY Canton on Feb. 11 – 12

Published:

SUNY Canton has donation appointments available during its two-day American Red Cross blood drive scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11, and Thursday, Feb. 12, in the Miller Campus Center room 212.

New this year, donors can receive a $20 e-gift card redeemable at a variety of merchants and online retailers.

Appointments are strongly encouraged, and those interested can schedule their donation online or through the Blood Donor App.

The American Red Cross is facing a severe blood shortage as hospital requests exceed available supply, drawing down the blood supply by about 35% over the past month. The shortage is dire for platelets and type O, A negative and B negative blood. Without immediate action, patients face serious risks. One donation can save up to three lives.

SUNY Canton was recognized by the American Red Cross as a Premier Blood Partners for 2025. The prestigious honor was given for its support of the community and national blood supply.

The two-day drive is coordinated by the Office of Wellbeing Programs & Initiatives and hosted by SUNY Canton student Emergency Medical Services Squad. For more information, contact Office of Wellbeing Programs & Initiatives Director Farren Lobdell.
