SUNY Canton Treats Students to Halloween-Themed Events
The SUNY Canton College Activities Board (CAB) will kick off the year’s Halloween celebrations with a presentation by one of the foremost authorities on hauntings and ghostly occurrences.
Paranormal Investigator John Zaffis will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, in the Richard W. Miller Campus Center’s Kingston Theater. He has more than 40 years of experience investigating the paranormal, and he’s covered thousands of cases.

Zaffis has been featured in the SyFy television series "Haunted Collector" and the Discovery Channel documentaries "A Haunting in Connecticut" and "Little Lost Souls." He also appeared on television shows such as "Unsolved Mysteries," "Ghost Hunters," and "Ghost Adventures," among other appearances in print and news media.
The presentation is free and open to the public. Following, Zaffis will lead a ghost hunt exclusively for 50 students.
The festivities will continue with CAB’s Halloween Lock-In from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, in the Miller Campus Center. SUNY Canton students and their guests are invited to enjoy an evening of food, refreshments, giveaways, and fun activities, including:
- A costume contest
- A murder mystery
- A haunted house and staircase
