Dr. Lorenda Beuker has been an instructor at SUNY Canton since 2006, helping develop and teach courses during the growth of the Sport Management program. Lorenda teaches Sports Finance, Sports Entrepreneurship, Sports Marketing, and Sports Sales and Sponsorship.
Lorenda holds a Doctor of Education from the United States Sports Academy, a master’s degree from Clarkson University, and an undergraduate degree in Exercise Health and Physiology from the University of Calgary.
As a sports entrepreneur and educator, she draws upon more than two decades of experience across collegiate and professional sport to connect classroom concepts with real-world applications.
A former Team Canada goaltender and collegiate coach, Lorenda combines the perspectives of athlete, coach, sports entrepreneur, performance researcher, and academic. Her professional work has included collaborations with the Florida Panthers, USA Hockey, and the NHL Coaches' Association. Her research and applied work focus on leadership, mindset, athlete development, and team performance, bridging theory and practice across collegiate and professional sport environments.
