Pam Mahoney is an adjunct professor entering her 16th year at SUNY Canton. Pam teaches an online class, Psychology of Sport and Exercise.
Pam holds an undergraduate degree from St. Lawrence University, where she majored in Psychology and minored in Sport and Leisure Studies. She earned a master’s degree in human kinetics, with a concentration in Sport Psychology at the University of Ottawa.
A decorated dual sport athlete and captain of the hockey and soccer programs at St. Lawrence, Pam was recently inducted into the St. Lawrence Hall of Fame in 2020 and to the Legends of Appleton in 2025.
Pam has been involved in sport at all levels. Her career began at Princeton University as an assistant women’s hockey coach, she was an assistant soccer coach at the University of Ottawa, and St. Lawrence head women’s hockey coach, while teaching in the Sport and Leisure Department. Pam’s athletic involvement in sport has spanned decades as a player, teacher, coach, and mentor.
She and her husband, St. Lawrence head men's lacrosse coach Mike Mahoney raised three sons in Canton. All three sons played lacrosse for their father at St. Lawrence.
