Irad Vanterpool

Greetings! I was born and raised in New York City. I began my career in college admissions with SUNY Canton where I was overseeing student recruitment in the NYC area. After a few years, I moved on to SUNY System Administration where I served as the Assistant Director of The SUNY Welcome Center. After spending a few years in SUNY System Administration, I’ve returned to Canton in a different role, but still primarily serving students in the New York City area.

The majority of my professional career has been in the area of education where I served in various capacities at every level of education. The common theme in all of my professional roles has been teaching, student development, counseling, and student advocacy. I want every student that I encounter to achieve success in education and in life. This is why I am excited to be a member of the Jump Start Team. It is my pleasure to help scholars be successful in the Jump Start program and overall, as a student at SUNY Canton.

In my spare time, I enjoy sightseeing, cultural arts, visual and performing arts, video games, and trying out new restaurants. Always a sucker for sweets!
