Community COVID-19 Testing Site Opens Jan. 13 in SUNY Canton’s Dana Hall

Published:

New York State, in partnership with Quadrant Biosciences, will be opening a community COVID-19 testing site at SUNY Canton on Thursday, Jan. 13, in the Dana Hall Gymnasium. Testing services will be offered for free to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The community testing site will use pooled saliva testing in partnership with SUNY Upstate Medical University. It is a minimally invasive and highly-accurate mouth-swab procedure. Results will be announced through an email notification approximately 24 to 48 hours after they are transported to a lab for processing.

Community members should create a free account at  http://app.clarifi-covid-19.com/ and make an appointment at https://quadrantbiosciences.com/covidtesting. Walk-in appointments will also be available. Questions can be directed to Quadrant Biosciences at 315-614-2325.

Advisories include:

  • Do not brush your teeth or use mouthwash within an hour before testing.
  • Do not eat or drink anything including gum, mints, or lozenges within a half hour before testing.
  • Do not smoke, vape or use smokeless tobacco products a half hour before testing.
  • Masks or face coverings are required in all SUNY Canton buildings, including Dana Hall.

To access the SUNY Canton testing site, turn from Route 68 onto Cornell Drive. Drive to the left at the intersection marked by the college’s digital sign. Turn right into the lower section of Parking Lot 5 to access Dana Hall. Directional signage on site will help direct visitors to the location.

SUNY Canton was one of the State University of New York locations designated as a community testing site by Governor Kathy Hochul in January to broaden access to testing across the state. Approximately 20 colleges are hosting free community testing sites, including nearby SUNY Potsdam.
