TRiO Student Support Services

TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) provides free academic support for SUNY Canton students who meet federal eligibility criteria, including first-generation college students, income-eligible students, and students with documented disabilities. TRiO is a federally funded grant program that selects over 200 students each year to participate.

Students enrolled in TRiO SSS receive additional services to support their success, such as:

Free Math and STEM tutoring
One-to-one personal/academic counseling
Financial Literacy – required for all TRiO Students
Graduate school and/or career counseling and planning assistance.
Dedicated TRiO First Year Experience Course for new, incoming freshmen.
Eligibility to join Chi Alpha Epsilon, a national honor society for TRiO students who meet academic and developmental standards
