Beyond one-on-one advising and tutoring, TRiO runs events and workshops all year to build community, sharpen financial aid know-how, and help you plan what’s next.

• New Student Orientation (each August and January): Your first official TRiO event, with both in person and virtual sessions, so every incoming student can attend.
• Roo Ready 101 Workshop Series (fall and spring semesters): A themed arc through the semester – starting with welcome and goal setting, moving into time management, midterm and mental health support, financial literacy, and finishing with finals
• First-Generation College Celebration Week (each November): A week of programming for first-gen students, including a financial literacy workshop and a graduate school panel.
• National TRiO Day (each February): A national day of recognition for TRiO programs marked at SUNY Canton with FAFSA renewal help and a support programs panel.

Watch your email and this page for exact dates each semester. Most events are open to all TRiO students, and some are open to the wider campus community.
